Christ, I realise now that I've not actually written anything for a while and that's probably the reason my numbers are plummeting. Not that you care, but I do. So what then? Stock photos of hotels aren't good enough for you lot then? Eh? EH!?

Here's some news: I put a £2 bet of North Korea to win the World Cup with the odds of 5000/1 so keep your fingers crossed.

Some other news: Despite being the worst film critic in the world (i.e I have two base phrases "No, I hated it" or "It was alright") I've got myself a wee press pass for the EIFF, Edinburgh International Film Festival for people who live outside of Edinburgh and don't care about any of this. My plan is to watch as many foreigny films that I can loosely base around travel - watch out for the two phrases, I'll be using them a lot. I'm going to try and avoid the film about the boy with Downs Syndrome falling in love with a stripper because it's too close to home and it will make me spew all over myself.

On the subject of Down's, I'm pleased with two things recently. Firstly, Pandora Summerfield (Chief Executive of Down's Syndrome Scotland) gave a fantastic response to Frankie Boyle's jokes, which was neither patronising or had the feeling of "you shouldn't make jokes about us because we're special" but more - isn't this shocking shit getting a bit old and boring now.

Secondly, I don't disagree with what Frankie Boyle said - they do all have similar haircuts (not my brother though, because he's the best one) and why shouldn't they be picked on once in a while? Why do we have to mother everyone? Equal treatment should mean equal treatment.

The woman who had a child with DS in the front row pity blogged about her "horrific" experience after she went to see the show. Don't forget, she did sit through the whole routine laughing at everyone else's misfortunes, they bought the tickets to go see a show of that kind of humour. Just because your kid has special needs doesn't mean you can spiral into a self-righteous misery whenever it suits.

I've decided that giving my sole opinions on travel and other such things can get a bit bland, and what's life without differences in taste, in things we want or need? And so, "Blog on Blog, 8 Quick Questions" was born.

I couldn't be happier, as my first interviewee is the fine author of one of the first blogs I ever followed. Susie Bubble is still claiming to be "a fashion outsider", even when all 15,000 of her daily readers would disagree. Firmly set in the mentality of dress-to-please-yourself, she's an inspiration to myself, and thousands of other young women who crave to know what she wore every day. Not to copy; but to find the courage to mix colours and textures. Susie Bubble: We salute you!

BVGT: Where would you consider home?

SB: London. I actually get incredibly peevish when people then promptly ask "No, but where are you ACTUALLY from?" I was born in London, lived here most of my life and wouldn't really live anywhere else.

BVGT: Where’s your favourite place in the world?

SB: Hampstead Heath - reminds me of bunking off school, eating crepes from the Hampstead Creperie and being by houses with lots of Blue Plaques (if you see one in London, it denotes a famous person once lived there...).

BVGT: Favourite place to eat or drink?

SB: Definitely St John's in Smithfields. It's an obvious choice but the food is just so consistently good. It also doesn't feel like you're going to a posh restaurant and I've always had great meals there.

BVGT: Do you speak any other languages, apart from your mother tongue?

SB:Well technically my mother tongue is Cantonese... so I guess...English, Mandarin and enough French to get by.

BVGT: What’s your opinion on matching luggage?

SB: I could never even carry more than one piece of luggage on my own so 'matching' has never been an option. I travel by myself a lot.

BVGT: Do you tend to over-pack or under-pack?

SB: Definitely over-pack which is why at airports you'll often see me struggling to get my one case to the check-in desk. Then I'm the embarrassed idiot who gets a 'Heavy Luggage' tag tacked onto my case. Well I guess as long as they're not sticking the tag on me, I should be grateful for that.

BVGT: What’s your favourite holiday bought garment?

SB: Probably a fringed jacket and skirt I bought in Miami from this wonderful place called C Madeleine's, an amazing vintage shop. I wear them separately a lot.

BVGT: Let’s pretend money and distance is no object. Where in the world would you most like to visit?

SB: Definitely Buenos Aires as my Argentinian friends tell me how beautiful it is. There's a really great creative community there too.

Styleclicker has been a big part of my day to day internet browsing and not only am I in awe of the amazing eye for street fashion that Gunnar Hämmerle has, but more importantly the beautiful pictures without the usual aids of studios and professional lighting. The ability to pick out colours from the streets of Spain to Sweden that compliment perfect strangers, well perfectly. Finding a photo of Gunnar was rather hard but let's face it, he was born to be at the other side of the lens with his impressive career. I took this photo from his "favourites" category, and it's one of mine too. It looks like someone I used to know a long, long time ago.

BVGT: Where would you consider home?

GH: First, where my wife and family is. And I love my second home Sweden where I want to move to in a couple of years. At the moment, I live in Munich which is for me the best place in Germany.

BVGT: Where’s your favourite place in the world?

GH: There are so many great places, but if I had to decide I'd pick Stockholm. Beautiful city, nice & well dressed people. I love it!

BVGT: Favourite place to eat or drink?

GH: A small bar & restaurant in Munich called "Schnelle Liebe" which is just around the corner from where I live. Very laid back, nice staff and good food.

BVGT: Do you speak any other languages, apart from your mother tongue?

GH: English and Swedish. And I learned French in school, but unfortunately forgot almost everything. I regret that. I want to learn French and Spanish, that would be great.

BVGT: What’s your opinion on matching luggage?

GH: Don´t know if I got the question right, but for me it´s most important that the suitcase is light. I prefer black in general and put a silver tape cross on it that I recognize it easily at the baggage claim.

BVGT: Do you tend to over-pack or under-pack?

GH: Overpack.

BVGT: What’s your favourite holiday bought garment?

GH: A great black winter coat that I bought second hand in Sweden for 15,- €.

BVGT: Let’s pretend money and distance is no object. Where in the world would you most like to visit?

GH: Some lost small island with beautiful beaches that nobody knows. I'd love to go there together with my wife and loads of books. But only for 6 weeks. Kind of cliché, isn't it.

BVGT: Who are you?

LL: My name is Luna Laboo.

BVGT: Location?

LL: I live in London

BVGT: What's your day job?

LL: I'm an Art Director.

BVGT: What made you decide to collect suitcases?

LL: I had the idea for the project after watching a news report on all the luggage going missing at Heathrow's Terminal 5 in London. I began to wonder where all the lost luggage was going. I found the auction where the luggage was being sold off and went along to buy a case. I thought I'd maybe buy one just to see what was in them, but there is something incredibly intriguing about other peoples things. Especially personal things like their dirty clothes. So I bought another, and another and so it went on. I took the photos as I thought this would be the best way to appreciate the contents as a whole.

BVGT: Have you found anything amazing in any of them?

LL: I think they are all amazing in their own way. In a strange way they are like portraits of their owners.

BVGT: Have you always believed in human kindness?

LL: Definitely, we are exposed to so many reports of violence and crime through the media, I think we forget the majority of people are really quite nice. It is of of the best feelings in the world to get a kind word or offer of help from a stranger. It also feels great to help people.

BVGT: Do you tend to trust strangers more since starting this project?

LL: I like to think I meet people with an open mind, I think you have to earn someones trust but that doesn't mean that all the people you haven't met yet are untrustworthy.

BVGT: What's next for you?

LL: I have a lot of little projects and hobbies I play with, one of them is to anonymously cheer up my co workers. I make funny little signs for the toilets, put mini model people around the office and hide sweeties with notes on under the coffee cups in the cupboards. I am writing a short film, using facebook for another portrait project and trying to design an iphone app. (ooh and I plan to have a holiday soon).

Boss of The Wombles, Denis Oudendijk took time out of his fantastical life to answer a few questions about it. Oudendijk created the Capsule Hotel which is a floating haven of scrap and genius but searching into his background a little bit more, this is just the tip of the iceberg. With hundreds of objects made from things that most humans can't see the beauty in, he's a diamond in the rough with his gems in well.. Rubbish.

BVGT: Who are you?

DO: Denis Oudendijk, Den Haag 1967, garbage architect.

BVGT: What made you start this project?

DO: looking different at the world, I wanted to make a trip through Europe over water, slow speed, local knowledge, guest room..( hotel...capsulehotel), looking for simple solutions for neglect of everything, either space, people or waste...

BVGT: Where are they mainly situated? They seem to move around so if I was go look at them NOW where could I go?

BO: On water, now in Vlissingen, and working on permit in the Hague and Groningern

BVGT: What are they made out of? Who makes them for you?

BO: Polyester, I refurbish them myself. They were originally made by Whittaker survival systems in El Mesa California in the seventies.

BVGT: How much does it cost to stay in one?
BO: from 50 till 150 (Euros), depending on the menu and the gadgets.

BVGT: How does security work? (Turns out I'm an idiot)
BO: You lock it form the inside

BVGT: What other ventures do you have besides this?

BO: I am working on a mobile village, a reserve for mobile architecture, which either floats or uses negelcted land.

BVGT: What was the hardest thing about making this project happen?

BO: Earning enough money to buy them and ignoring peoples opinions and persevere.

BVGT: What's next for you?

BO: I have now 4 capsules, round and one elongated one; which I want to use as reception capsule but overall I want my own village/land/island... Floating island made from garbage and other neglected materials, components and objects.

Fuck you, Retro Super Future and your bastard aspirational fun, hip, happening sunglasses which I can't justify buying because I live in bastard, inoffensive Scotland where if you spend any more than bastard £5 on what's essentially a disposable pair of specs because it's only sunny one week a year. From what I have I learnt today, Daniel Blackman is a visual genius. I'm desperate to meet a rational person who buys the shit on the pages of in-flight magazines. They're not even close to being as much as a bargain as they'd like you to believe. For example, you can get a travel sized mascara for £16 - regardless of what your priorities are, that isn't a good deal.

British Airways, in the most respectful of ways, know fuck all about anything. As we've all heard in the news, reading between the lines, the BA offices are a mixture of people running around on fire or insanely stealing stationary, fucking like it's the end of the world or sitting, head in hands and sobbing about this rather frustrating struggle to regain any sort of good reputation.

If you mix British Airways workplace Zombie apocalypse with shop n' flying you get some rather mutant ideas such as this. Is it a noose? Yes. In many ways it is. Reading through the description you get guff such as "new and exciting product" and "simply do this and that". Bottom line is that it's a gel filled piece of fabric that when it's soaked in wet, cold water it then becomes wet and cold. For "women of all ages". Why can't men wear it then? Oh yes, because it's been cleverly disguised as a neckerchief.

So, once used by travelers (which admittedly is only one of the suggested target groups) you then have to carry a sopping wet bit of cloth through customs until you find a place to hang it to dry to use over and over again, you'd fucking hope so for £10. Anyway, suspicious gel on planes hidden in garments? That's treading on shaky grounds, surely.

I get really crippling migraines and the only thing I can think of for this to be in any way realistic is by wrapping it over my eyes while I moan from a darkened room, but then again I have pain killers strong enough to ease even British Airways' ball-ache.

It was a horrible morning the other week weather-wise. I'd got a bit pissed the night before I'd promised to take my Mam's car in for an MOT so had to abandon it before things got a bit out of hand. So getting up at 7 on two hours sleep, walking through the hideous sleet blizzard to pick it up, then driving to the other end of town to leave it at Kwik-fit and then stand at a bus stop wishing that I had never got my driving licence so favours like this could be completely ruled out. Grim, the whole thing.

Luckily, John Lewis is well placed so you can take "robo stairs" to nearly outside our front door, which is handy, especially when outside looks like the inside of a 40 year old snowglobe (nae glitter). So, I'm wearing my classic outfit which insures I get followed in shops, fake fur jumper, duffle coat, no make-up, jeans with visible unmatching socks - looking like a fat heroin addict and not in the good way.

I did notice a rather lovely luggage set by Kipling, where did they come from? I remember years ago some of the geekier/richer children at primary school would have a Kipling bag because it came with a free monkey toy, it was all a bit twatty to be honest, but then they disappeared and it's only now that I've noticed it as a brand again. However, I felt a bit of pressure to get a wriggle on because, as I mentioned I looked like a shoplifter, and there was 6 different staff dotted around keeping their "partner" eyes on me.

Online shopping is less judgmental isn't it.. A rather tedious long, inane post to basically say: Here's my find... (P.S I like grey very much)

New Macbook Pro 15"

After having a daily post blog for nearly a year and doing shit loads of work from home, it was probably best I got my own computer. My boyfriend has been rather generous by allowing me to use his in this rather lengthy sentence but the guilt set in when I realised that he never, ever gets to use it. Sucks being him, right?

My budget rapidly increased, I was going to get an older MacBook with a 13" screen which has now turned into a brand new (this month) MacBook Pro 15"... Errrgggg, I'm can't afford to eat for the next 2 years but at least I can look at really clear, large images of food. To be honest, it got to the point that I was thinking to myself "yeah, but for an extra £200 I could have the faster processor" or "I can have an extra 2 inches" - the second thought was nothing to do with the computer.

Buying from John Lewis is nice isn't it? I've got a 2 year warranty which I reckon is probably going to be put through it's paces. I love smugly sitting in my car watching other people's umbrellas milling about and causing a fuss. It does lead to the conversation about why they still turn inside out and surely they would be designed better by now. They probably have been but who actually buys an umbrella to find out if times have changed? I did once, then I lost it so I'm not going down that painful road again. You generally can pick them up from any lost property box in any establishment. They're a bit like lighters, someone else used to own it before you did.

If I was going to buy an umbrella I'd go for this heartshaped one above because it's lovely. I'll admit, I've done no research about how sturdy they are but that doesn't matter because if it flips out on me then I'll stand in the street and scream "arrrghhh, my heart is broken" and it would be funny for a second or two.

The secret project is out in the open now, thank god I could hold on and not get sued for every penny I've ever/will earn. Leica let me test run the new 12.1 megapixel V-Lux 20 for the last month, posting on their specially made website (here), where me and other bloggers from around the world were getting in and around our cities and taking arty photos to display (but not to it's full extent) how clever this camera really is.

Being a bit thick in some respects, the GPS system completely bamboozled me to the point that every night I was dreaming I was getting followed by spies (I hear that's the usual thing that happens when you can't operate a basic piece of machinery). When I realised however that I wasn't just clicking one button and going the hard way round, my life got easier the photos got better and my sleeps returned to having sex dreams about James Nesbitt from the Yellow Pages adverts. It is a perfect camera if you're a pisshead who likes travelling and can't remember where you've been, or if you're in CSI:Miami.

Rumour has it that it's going to be about £500/501 Euros (great exchange rate we're getting over here). and some info for the photo geeks, there's a 4.1-49.2mm f/3.3-4.9 ASPH. zoom lens with a focal range of 25-300mm (35mm equivalent). It's in a matte black finish which, as we all know, is the best colour for anything apart from milky bars or lungs.

I love it - it's a boss point and click (I'm not going to compare it to my D-Lux because it'll make me a bit sad) but as with all Leicas, everything is so... I did pause for 5 minutes to try and think of a word, and the word I'm settling with is GERMAN. Which is exactly what you want from a camera, perhaps not so much from the British Royal Family.

I love camping very much but what I don't like is rolling up sleeping bags (and the impending threat of being murdered). It's almost like someone has listened to the voice in my head every time I'm up north and invented this.. Or something a little less vain and self-obsessed.

I'm quite into these design your own websites that let you have creative control of what you're going to buy. However, I've always faced a bit of a problem when it comes to hats - do they make you look like a knob? Yes, they do, anytime we see someone wearing a hat (any hat) we sing a variation on the song below but that could be because we're also knobs.

I've always liked the idea of wearing hats in airports, not too sure why because it's pointless but there's something quite retro-spy about the whole thing. Paired with some Raybans and my Burbery trenchcoat would make me feel the part... No, I reckon I'd still look like an arsehole.

If I ever grew a pair and splashed out, La Cerise sur le Chapeau would get a visit, and I'd tell them about my silly plan and sing my silly song and then they'd probably tell me to leave.

I'm a bit anti-Scotland at the moment and it certainly doesn't help that we've had our heads kicked in by rather soviet weather - trees are falling onto cars, roads are closed, flooding, snow, gale force winds.. all the usual stuff that we're in no way prepared for. I also hate the way that Edinburgh is unbelievably beautiful and that's one of our big tourism selling points, but the streets are ironically ruined by garish Scottish shops blaring out techno-bagpipes so Americans will come and find their heritage by buying a fridge magnet.

Because of this horrid stereotyping, I've tried to avoid tartan as much as possible (this doesn't apply to haggis by the way, I could eat that every day). With the exception of Vivienne Westwood and Burbery, which aren't particularly known for being from our parts, you can't seem to buy anything in Scotland which regains any trust that we know how to dress traditionally without looking like tacky souvenirs of ourselves.

Ness have risen to the challenge. I saw a girl in Berlin who had a tartan Ness suitcase, it was beautiful. Sadly when I went online none were to be found but the lovely Mel assured me that they would be coming soon (I'll keep you updated). However they did have some passport holders which as you can see are muted and chic, exactly what I want tartan to be like, instead of so brash. This could be the start of a new era of me owning pieces of my heritage (please no one point out that my Ma's English and my Da's Australian)... Dinny care 'boot anyfun else though eh, ken?

I don't know where I stand on the whole fur is murder situation. First of all, I have a fur scarf which is a whole fox - legs, tail, head with horrible plastic eyes. It's name is Kanye West, not that I particularly like Kanye West but everything in our house is named after a male celebrity, infact, when I bought Kanye he came with a free porcelain cockerel which we named Mick Jagger, as I mentioned a while ago, my two, ahem, private toys are named Danny Glover and Woody Harrelson - The whole thing is rather idiotic.

However, new fur, I don't think I'm OK with. I came across these on my internet travels. I certainly don't think it's reasonable to make eye masks out of rabbit and mink because it's the most pointless use of small animals I can think of (apart from what you do, Richard Gere) Who needs their eyes to warm on a plane for example? I'm not going to get on my high horse with a tin of red paint about the creators of this fashion statement because regardless on how cruel it's shown in the media to be, I don't know first hand or have even researched enough to make an informed decision. I'm really not as much as an extremist as some but I'd feel the same way if these masks were made of diamonds (people die digging up them too y'know). Pointless. If they were fake fur however... Hmmm... Anyone reading fancy producing them? I've got absolutely no qualms about being tacky.
